Professional Development for "Lessons from the Land" |
"Lessons
from the Land" home page
"Lessons
from the Land" is now in thirty classrooms across
Southeast Michigan. We invite areas teachers to join a growing
community of educators who are using this program to meet standards
and boost student achievement. Professional development workshops
provide participants with the complete “Lessons
from the Land” curriculum with the goal of preparing
them to integrate the materials into their classroom teaching.
To date we have held three workshops: January 2006, February 2007,
and August 2007.
Upcoming workshops:
We are tentatively planning another workshop for 2008
aimed at preparing teachers and youth workers to use the
"Lessons from the Land" curriculum. Interested educators
should contact Susan Santone: email: santone@creativechange.net.
Schools can also schedule their own "Lessons
from the Land" workshop by contacting Susan Santone at the
address above.
The "Lessons from the Land"
curriculum was developed with funding from the Washtenaw
County Department of Planning and Environment,
the James
A. and Faith Knight Foundation, the Ann
Arbor Area Community Foundation, and
the Community Foundation
for Southeast Michigan. Creative Change thanks these and other
program partners.
