Example of Student Work on Ecological Economics

Student-Created Newsletter

After a unit on ecological economics, freshman at Ann Arbor Pioneer High School created this newsletter to demonstrate their understanding of key concepts, both globally and locally. The document summarized important economics principles and highlighted local businesses recognized for their environmental efforts.

The newsletter, distributed at a public forum on sustainability, is an example of authentic assessment: Students producing meaningful work for a real audience.
