Below are descriptions of just some of the units developed by Project SUSTAIN teachers, with links to one-page lesson overviews and examples of student work.

At East Middle School, sixth grade science students explore water quality by creating a "living machine," a model wetland that purifies water using plants, fish, and micro-organisms. One page overview.

At West Middle School, eighth grade social studies students investigate the social and environmental impacts of Nike's shoe production. One page overview.

Also at West Middle School, 8th grade language arts students examine the impacts of population and consumption on the future through literature, individual ecological footprints, and data analysis. One page overview.
