The following data were compiled from surveys of high school students in Creative Change programs.

Students increase their sense of connection to the world

Students report Creative Change units more effective than their textbooks

Students in Creative Change programs were asked to compare Creative Change materials with their textbooks in terms of their effectiveness in the following areas:
• Helping students understand connections among content areas.
• Geting students interested in community- and global events, and
• Helping students develop solutions to problems.

The results appear at right.

Students increase their understanding of the importance and impacts of their actions

Students in Creative Change programs consistently reported increased levels of agreement with the following statements as measured by pre- and post-program surveys:

- I understand how classwork relates to my life.
- I understand the environmental issues facing my community.
- I understand the impacts of my actions on the environment.
- I have a responsibility to help solve problems in my community.
- I understand that local actions have global impacts.
